We work with you across all aspects of your financial life.
Financial planning is not a document, it is an integration of disciplines to help you navigate through your financial life. We start with today. Where are you? Where do you want to be?
Whether you’re looking to retire, pay for college, or buy a second home, or recovering from a divorce or the death of a spouse, our goal is to help you visualize your possibilities, imagine what your life could be like, and put in place a plan in place to help guide you on your life’s journey.
In creating your financial plan, we measure likely and unlikely scenarios to ensure you are on the path that is right for you. And we will re-evaluate your plan periodically or as your circumstances change to see that you are still on track.
Planning for retirement involves detailed financial forecasts incorporating all aspects of your financial life, from savings to spending, taxes to inflation, investment returns, etc., taking into account various assumptions around things such as your financial independent requirements, social security income, and future educational costs for children or grandchildren. All of these results in the creation of a detailed projection of anticipated retirement outcomes based on these various inputs.
Estate plans are some of the most personal and important documents you may ever have. It is important that they reflect your true desires and wishes. We want to make sure that those documents are right for you.
We do this though a process of identifying desired estate planning outcomes, reviewing current estate plans, and ensuring those documents appear appropriate to achieve those desired outcomes. We will also facilitate discussions with your estate planning counsel and work to ensure that your plans are kept up to date.
Tax planning involves a significant degree of skill and knowledge to accomplish successfully. We focus on a holistic approach to tax planning as we strive to achieve the most tax efficient outcomes possible. We look at a variety of strategies to achieve this, such as deferring income through retirement accounts, analyzing Roth IRA conversions, completing tax loss harvesting, and thoughtfully implementing income-oriented investments in tax-deferred accounts.
Insurance and Risk Management
We do not sell insurance because of the conflict of interest that creates, but we do believe it and other strategies can, and often should, be used to mitigate many of life’s risks.
To achieve this, we’ll review and analyze current risk exposure and applicable insurance coverage, and discuss strategies to mitigate those risks, which include recommendations relating to appropriate levels and types of insurance.
